How to download and install the Compatibility Pack for Office 2007

Summary
This document details how to download and install the Compatibility Pack for Office 2007. This compatibility pack allows older versions of Office (2000, XP, 2003) to open, edit and save files created in the XML file type native to Office 2007.

Steps
1. Download the installer 2. Run the Installer 3. Installing - Agree to License 4. Verify Install

1. Download the Installer

Click on link below to Microsoft's site where the installer is hosted. Make sure that the appropriate language is selected in the download window and click on the Download Button.

2. Run the Installer

After approximately 30 seconds the installation should begin. Depending on your web browser, you may be prompted to either "Run" or "Save" the file, select Run. If you get a security warning in the browser toolbar, Select Allow the Content and select Run again.

3. Installing - Agree to License

A license agreement will pop up. Check the box in the bottom left "Click here to accept the Microsoft Software License Terms," and then click on Continue.


4. Verify Install

Click OK to verify installation. You should now be able to open, edit and save files created in Office 2007.
